What to include when you get in touch
The more of this you send, the closer the first number will be to the final one:
Dimensions — length and width, or a rough square footage.
What it carries — foot traffic, cars, or a truck or RV. This decides thickness and reinforcement, which is most of the cost difference.
Existing surface — whether there is concrete or asphalt to remove, and roughly how thick.
Access — whether a mixer truck can reach the pour, or whether it must be pumped or barrowed.
Finish — plain broom finish, or stamped, coloured or exposed aggregate.
Timing — concrete is weather-dependent, so a date range helps more than a fixed day.
What happens next
A contractor who works in your area reviews the details and comes back with a quote and a timeline. If the job needs a site visit before a number can be given honestly — and larger pours, tear-outs and anything involving drainage usually do — they will arrange one. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation attached to it.
